Plymouth Harbor

Plymouth Harbor

A look across the history-infused waters of Plymouth Harbor.

About this place:

The harbor that launched a thousand ships, and then some. Many of the world's most important journeys of exploration discovery launched from Plymouth Harbor, a naturally protected inlet protected from the elements and intruders by its geographical blessings. From these shores, Sir Francis Drake left to defeat the Spanish Armada, Sir Walter Raleigh set forth to America to found his ill-fated colony, Captain Cook left to sail around the world (discovering Australia, Hawaii, and many other islands in the process), and the pilgrims left English soil to travel to New England. With so much pivotal maritime history, there must be something in the water.
