heading off to sea in a small boat. view of the golden gate from the channel behind Angel Island and Tiburon.
Angel Island State Park is in the San Francisco bay. It has a rich history going back further than the Civil War, when Union troops were there. A fact I did not know, even though I grew up in the Berkeley. To get to the island there are a number of ferrys that leave from a number of location around the bay. Check out their transfportation page at http://www.angelisland.org/faq2.htm. When you have the time a bike trip around the island is most enjoyable.
