Koshoy Korgon

Koshoy Korgon

The remains of the fortress lie just outside the village of Kara-Suu, in between the village and the mountains.

Description

The ruined citadel of Koshoy Korgon, is located just outside of the village of Kara-Suu. Not much is known about this fortress (at least according to my guidebooks, anyway) but it dates from roughly the 10th century, and was probably Karakhanid. All that remains of this once grand citadel are crumbling earth walls, which are both desolate and majestic.
