About this place:

2.5 milies off of the Vail Pass Summit on I-70 is a well hidden group of backcountry cabins (Jay's, Walter's, Chuck's) known as the Shrine Mountain Inn. The Cabins all have electicity, running water, and gas stove (all of which are rare in backcountry huts). The Shrine Mountain Inn is only accesable by hiking or biking in the summer months, and skis and snowshoes in the winter months. Reservations are requiered for a stay.

    Expecting a warm weekend in April, myself and a friend skied the 2.5 miles in to the Shrine Mountain Inn. Little did we know we were going to be dumped on. Over nite we recieved around 12" of snow! What an epic weekend!
