A view of the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, New Jersey on the Jersey Shore. It remains to be seen if it has been reopened, but there does appear to be signs of life based on a recent morning visit to the area.
The Wonder Bar closed its doors for the last time in September 2006. As new construction takes place in the area, it stands as a reminder of the past. On its marquee is a tribute to Tillie - the face that once adorned Palace Amusements before it was torn down. The image of Tillie stands as a symbol of the shore of old. One of the images of Tillie was saved before the demolition and is hoped to be incorporated into a new Palace as the city is revived.
