Late may and the ice still covered 90% of the lake.

About this place:

The lake is right next to Kluane National Park and Reserve. At the end of May there are still large chunks of ice floating on the lake, visible at 3 am because it is so bright. Stopping on the only road through the area is not much of a problem since the traffic is so sparse. Quiet, cold, and beautiful.

    Even though we were driving on a narrow dirt road, there was not much danger in stopping to take in the view. The next car was at least a 1/2 hour behind us. No electric hum, no car horns, nothing. The wind. It was too bad Nathan and Tony were asleep.
