Remains of a family dwelling in Arizona's Wupatki National Monument. Wupatki Pueblo was the largest pueblo less than 800 years ago.

About this place:

Wupatki National Monument is home to the remains of the Wupatki Pueblo, citadel, and surrounding dwellings. The pueblo has a long history and was inhabited by many different groups of people over the centuries. The site is of curious interest to archeologists and anthropologists because the climate in the area does not lend itself to an easy way of life. Be aware, it gets quite hot and quite cold here and there is little to no weather protection, so dress appropriately for the season.

Wupatki National Monument is located off of Hwy 89 just north of Flagstaff, AZ. Hwy 89 is the other route to the Grand Canyon coming from Flagstaff and drops you on the east side of the Canyon.
