In the Great Plains of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and beyond, severe thunderstorms often produce lightning, hail and tornadoes. Especially from April to June. This is the land of the Twister, a.k.a. Tornado Alley. Tornadoes also occur in Colorado, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Missouri, Iowa and other States, and in other months, but the best chance to see a twister is probably in Oklahoma in May. Local media , radio and TV, have excellent live coverage and warnings. You can even join a tour.
