    Venice is one of my perfect places. Somewhere to escape to for a few days and get away from your normal life. Even during the peak tourist season it's easy to lose the the crowds by exploring the winding alley ways and small squares where only the locals seem to hang out.

    Venice, Italy is world famous for its canals—a city built from a collection of 118 islands connected by over 400 bridges, the two main ways to get around town are by boat or on foot. The classical boat traveling through the Grand Canal and under many of the bridges is the gondola. With a traditional costumed gondola driver, the ride under the bridges with the classic buildings of Venice on either side of you is a must do in the city.
