Velvet Revolver cake
I feel kind of stupid because I didn't know there was a band called Velvet Revolver, so I just thought, cool, gun cake. Sheesh. Bleeding Heart's baked goods are all organic, sometimes vegan, always tasty.
About this place:
The words "punk rock bakery" aren't usually strung together, but that's what Bleeding Heart Organic Bakery is. Started by Valentin and Michelle Garcia in 2003 through a shared love of baking and punk rock, Bleeding Heart is easy to find near the corner of Belmont and Damen Avenues. They sell all manner of cakes, cookies and pastries, some of them vegan, all of them tasty. They have a few tables at which to hang out, and browse some magazines left on the coffee table in back.
