As we arrived, we were instantly greeted by name and escorted inside. The service was 100% first class and we were treated like royalty the whole trip! The bellhop explained the areas of the resort as he escorted us to the room. Our room was very large, and included a "living area", and we had a large patio with city, mountain, tennis court, and golf course views.
The first thing I always check in a hotel or resort is the bed. This bed was perfect. Feather pillows and comforter....very plush. All white imported Italian linens. The bathroom had marble tiles, a deep garden tub, separate shower, toilet, and bidet.
There are nine beautiful pools with views of Camelback Mountain. Two of the pools are mother of pearl. The poolside service is top notch and your request is always met. If you want a camera, you got it. Sunscreen? Sure! The drinks are great and so is the food.
There are several restaurants at the Phoenician. The Terrace is a Four Diamond restaurant and the food is absolutely fantastic. Mary Elaine's is a Five Diamond restaurant and was undergoing remodeling while we visited.
Needless to say, the resort is well worth the money. It is not cheap...The room we stayed in was $400/night. Breakfasts and lunches were easily $60 for two, dinner was $200 for two. Poolside drinks are starting at $10.
A hint....although summer in Arizona is dreadfully hot, resort rates plummet! We stayed the end of May. Had we waited 2 more weeks, the same room drops almost $200 per night. So what if it's hot! You have nine pools to play in!
