The San Luis Valley in Colorado is renowned as a hot spot for UFO activity. Located near the Great Sand Dunes National Park and the Sangre de Cristo mountains, the UFO Watchtower is one of those places that can be seen from Highway 17 and must not be passed. Here the owner watches the sky each night and claims to have seen over 100 UFOs. There is a "healing garden" outside the watchtower which the owner claims is a vortex and visitors are encouraged to leave a personal item.

    After visiting the divinely strange town of Crestone, Colorado in the San Luis Valley, I saw the UFO Watchtower on the side of Highway 17 and was compelled to stop. Outside of the watchtower, the first thing I saw was a yard filled with what seemed like junk. The owner later explained that this "healing garden" was, in fact, a vortex and that visitors were encouraged to leave a personal item. I found some costume vampire teeth in the car; Dad left his lens cap. The owner has sighted over 100 UFOs.
