The St. Johns bridge spans the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. It is just one of nearly a dozen different bridges that help give Portland her nickname of Bridgecity.
Dedicated in 1931, this bridge was designed by David B. Steinman. At the time of its completion it had the highest clearance in the nation and the first use of aviation lights on its towers.
