The Cliff House, just south of the Sutro Bath ruins at Ocean Beach San Francisco.
In 1896 Adolph Sutro built what the current incarnation of the Cliff House is based on. The building survived the San Francisco earthquake in 1906, but was burned down by a fire in 1907. Two years later the restaurant that still exists was finished. It became property of the National Parks Service in 1977 and has looked generally the same since. The Cliff House is now as it was in 1909, a functioning restaurant and bar.
