About this place:

Today one of the most beautiful and luxurious hotel of Italy, The Villa d’Este, at Cernobbio, was built in 1568 by Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, a native of the town. In 1816–17 the villa was home to Caroline of Brunswick, estranged wife of the Prince of Wales and shortly to become Queen Consort of King George IV of the United Kingdom. The landscaped gardens in the English style are a product of this period.

When I was 14 i stayed at the Villa d'Este with my family, and i have never felt more like royalty in my life. The luxury and shear scale of this castle-like palace, with it's majestic views and endless elegance, was both breathtaking and exhilarating. Anyone seeking a purely decadent and peaceful stay in Italy simply must witness the Villa d'Este.
