Place to see: Golden Gate Bridge lookout, San Francisco, California, United States

Early morning fog

Early morning fog

So, how does the Golden Gate Bridge look in thick morning fog?

About this place:

One of the best spots to observe the Golden Gate Bridge from is small viewpoints on Conzelman Road. Take the last exit along Hwy 101 going south or first exit after you have crossed the bridge heading north.

We visited this place both in the evening just before the sunset when there were hundreds of people snapping pictures and in the early hours of the morning when there was no one else there besides us and the rabbits. Spectacular!

Just keep on thing in mind about the Golden Gate Bridge... no matter how many pictures of the bridge you might snap, it will be really difficult to get a really good one. Weather conditions are shifty at best and so many professional photographers have spent weeks if not years waiting for the perfect shot. Save yourself some trouble and buy a book of Golden Gate photographs as a memento of your trip!

I can only describe it as the most memorable moment of the whole trip. After driving from LA overnight, we arrived in SF at 4:30am. We drove around the city which was fast asleep and took pictures of deserted streets. However, we wanted just one thing... to catch the break of dawn over the Golden Gate Bridge. We drove up through the thick fog and clouds to the lookout to find this scene. And how memorable it was... only us two and some wild rabbits sharing this view!
