São Francisco Church and Convent
in the Praca da Se it's a franciscan church, interesting b/c outside of the vatican, it's the richest/most expensive church in the world! i'm not sure st francis would approve....!
About this place:
The name of the Old City is "Pelhourino" and it is the historic center of Salvador in Bahia. It was built by the Portuguese colonists, but the culture and religion are East African (Angolan mostly, and another country I forget).
