Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) has a lot of French architecture. This art gallery, which is in an old mansion, has a wonderful elevator bringing back memories of Paris.
The Fine Arts Museum of Ho Chi Minh City was established in 1987 and is ranked in the first class of national museums by the Ministry of Culture. In addition to the exhibition of Vietnamese as well as foreign artists there are exhibits of Vietnamese antiques (ceramics, painted and gilded objects, mother-of-pearl inlaid articles, etc.).
The building is of colonial French architecture and contains some interesting reminders of the past - such as this antique elevator.
