According to the barista who was hosting, Ritual Coffee Roasters usually does a cupping once a day on the weekdays every week. Cupping is like wine tasting for coffee and originated from coffee buyers who needed a quick way to evaluate the product they were buying.
Ritual is a busy espresso bar and bean roasting company located in the Mission neighborhood in San Francisco. Since May 2005 Ritual has been serving up the most cared for cups of coffee. Almost every step of the process is hands on with this company. Much care is put into finding and developing relationships with the coffee farmers that hail from as far as Africa. The roasting process is done inside the store location with a highly competent and knowledgeable staff. Finally the baristas go through a rigorous training before they are allowed to join the ranks at Ritual. For those connoisseurs, you will appreciate what they have done, and for those who know nothing about coffee, ritual will surely amaze you.
