Bird Watching at Our Breakfast Table in Kenya

Bird Watching at Our Breakfast Table in Kenya

We stayed at the Lake Nakuru Lodge in Kenya, home of one of the largest flocks of flamingoes in the world. From the doorway, the outside tables looked lovely and enticing, but as we came closer, we saw quite a little gathering of various African birds.

After a previous afternoon viewing more flamingoes than we had ever seen in our lives, we rise the next morning to eat breakfast before another wondrous day on safari. This pleasant lodge near Lake Nakuru in Kenya had an appealing outside covered dining area, so we headed there. Although the birds were charming to see, having heard a rumor that birds void as they fly away, worried about mysterious avian diseases, mourning the romance we were losing, we weren't quite sure we liked their proximity to our meal, so we reluctantly turned and headed for an inside table.
