A copy of the prop that caused trouble for detective Sam Spade in the 1941 movie version of Dashiell Hammett’s “The Maltese Falcon” is now in the glass case on the second floor of historic John's Grill.

Some dirty rat stole the original falcon in 2007, and although the restaurant's owner put up a $25,000 reward, San Francisco police detectives never had any leads.
