Place to sleep: Dalat's Crazy House, Ðà Lạt, Vietnam

About this place:

Easily Vietnam's strangest attraction, The Dalat Crazy House is best described by the word "kooky". Most people aren't aware that you can book a room at Dalat's shrine to strange, sleeping in a den with bears, or perhaps nabbing the room overtaken by a giant eagle. The brainchild of twisted architect Ms Dang Viet Nga, the accomodation is booked through its more traditional name, The Hang Nga Guest House. The outside looks like some bastard twin to Disneyland's Matterhorn Mountain, with rooms often reached by encased, winding staircases. The establishment is several buildings, including one that is a work in progress. At about $45 per night, it may be pricey compared to the deals that Dalat offers, but this is one that you'll never forget. In your dreams...or nightmares.
