About this place:
These are two islands off the coast of Perast in the middle of the Bay of Kotor. Our Lady of the Rock is a man-made island, known locally as Gospa od Škrpjela. The story behind the island is that generations of sailors have dropped rocks and old boats filled with rocks in this place to build the foundation for the church that now stands there.
You can distinguish Our Lady of the Rock from its neighbor, Saint George Island, by its lack of trees.
