Westport Maritime Museum

Walking the museum grounds during the closed hours is still a very nice experience since some of the exhibits are shown to the public on the grounds. Check out some fascinating whale and other mammal skeletons shown in the small building on the right.

About this place:

The historic museum building was built in 1939 to serve as the Coast Guard's Lifeboat Station, Grays Harbor. The Colonial Revival structure served in that role until 1972 when a new station was built several blocks to the South. The Maritime Museum opened in the Old Coast Guard building in 1985.
