John Lautner's incredible desert house for Arthur Elrod. A massive concrete roof hung over an indoor outdoor pool with boulders in the living room makes the house feel sort of like a super modern cave. The entire north facing wall is motorized glass that opens up to make the entire house feel like it is outside. For anyone that is a bond fan, this is the house that was used in Diamonds are Forever where bond was beaten up by bambi and thumper. The house is available for rent and is one of the few chances a person can have to spend a few nights in such incredible architecture.
