About this place:

Gomare (Gumare) is a village in Ngamiland, in northwest Botswana. It is located on the western edge of the Okavango Delta. It now has over 7000 inhabitants and a tarred road leading through, but when I worked there in the mid-1980's, it had about 2500 inhabitants and a dirt road leading in.

The people there were very kind, friendly and welcoming. I loved the students I taught at Okavango Junior Conmmunity Secondary School and the many friends I made there.

If you travel to Botswana, Ngamiland is a great place to go. Gomare is one of many villages along the Okavango you should visit.
