  Alembic has taken back the Old Fashioned. There is no where in the world, and i mean no where, that makes a better Old Fashioned. The simplicity of the drink, rendered more so by the removal of the candied fruit that usually goes in and the excellent bitters, is something that no one should miss.

  While a Ramos Fizz seems like an abomination (and trust me, in the wrong hands, it is) of milk, egg white, and gin, Alembic's version is flawless. Properly frothed, not too sweet nor too tart, the cocktail ceases to be merely a drink and is more akin to cloud. Mind that you don't exceed three, however, as the fog of Upper Haight can play nasty tricks on your sense of direction.
