About this place:

Harran, is a district of Şanlıurfa Province in the southeast of Turkey, also known as Carrhae after the defunct ancient town (now a valuable archaeological site).

Harran is an archaeological site of great value as the ancient city was the centre of a considerable commerce, trading with Tyre (Ezekiel 27:23), and one of its specialities was the odoriferous gum derived from the stobrum tree (Pliny, N.H. xii. 40)

Harran is one of the most magical sites I've ever been. The ruins preserved good enough for the visitors to imagine the historical appearance of the city, and after centuries, the observatory tower of the first university of Asia is still standing with its grandness.
