Place to see: Kinkakuji, Ky?to-fu, Japan

Given the popularity of this most famous of Kyoto's tourist attractions, I'm suprised that even here, my pictures contain no trace of current human habitation.

About this place:

The official name of this temple is Rokuonji.

The original, in all its ostentatious glory, was constructed by the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu in the 1300's, but this incarnation is much more recent: The previous structure was burned to the ground by a disgruntled monk in 1950.

Is it possible to take a bad photo at Kinkakuji? I've seen it on sunny days and rainy afternoons, in summer and autumn, and the temple and temple grounds always look so calming and magnificent.
