Place to see: The Alcazar of Seville, Sevilla, Spain

Alcazar Baths

Alcazar Baths

This royal bath was in a dingy basement in the Alcazar and had to be viewed through a barred gate. The lighting was very dim so I had to set my camera very precariously on a ledge to capture this long exposure.

About this place:

The Alcazar of Seville is a Royal Palace built over the ruins of a Moorish fort. The architecture has a distintly Islamic design and is an example of "Mudejar Architecture".

Far bigger than imagined. A lovely surprise on a sunshine day. The colors of the tiles, the carving in the walls. Hard to believe that brothers slain (half) brothers here, in this very room. Seems like Pedro el Cruel is more fitting than Pedro el Justiciero after all. And to think that Granada's glorious Alhambra was once just this decorated, just this colorful. Amazing. It's too much for an afternoon...I have decided I will just have to return, time and again, to take it in. To take even more photos.
