  1. Shesh Besh

Located in the eastern part of the city center along Bolshaya Mosckovskaya, just past the Hotel Vladimir is a restaurant called Shesh Besh. Shesh Besh is an Azerbaijani restaurant, and in my opinion this is the best food to be had in Vladimir.

  2. Hot Dog Johnny's

Is Hot Dog Johnny's a classic roadside hot dog stand/restaurant along Route 46 in Buttzville (heh heh heh!), New Jersey, not far from the Delaware Water Gap.

Route 46 was a major east-west throughfare before Interstate 80 was built, and Hot Dog Johnny's, which opened in 1944, is a thriving reminder of what roadside architecture and cuisine were like back in the day.

Don't miss the birch beer served in frosted mugs, the french fries, and, of course, the hot dogs.

  4. Elk Grove Brewery

This restaurant, previously a General Store, located in the charming Old Elk Grove, is also a brewery of micro beers. The decor was charming and displayed several large, working copper beer making containers.

When we got there around 6:00, a live band was setting up.

Cafe Sweet Sixties is a wonderful little cafe in central Bishkek, located at the corner of Molodaya Gvardia and Kievskaya. They serve tasty Mexican, American and Italian food, have a full bar, and offer live music seven nights a week.

  6. Cirino's at Main Street

This charming little restaurant, located in the heart of Grass Valley, CA, claims to be "voted best lunch restaurant in Nevada County." We haven't eaten at many restaurants in Nevada County, but I would not challenge their claim. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly but not obtrusive.

We were there for lunch (they also serve dinner) and my husband had the Ortega Chile Hamburger and I had Grilled Turkey with melted Jack cheese on top of marinated artichoke hearts.

  7. Cliff House

In 1896 Adolph Sutro built what the current incarnation of the Cliff House is based on. The building survived the San Francisco earthquake in 1906, but was burned down by a fire in 1907.

  8. The Sherman

For an unforgettable dining experience there is nothing else like the Sherman Restaurant. What was once an Army transport ship has been completely renovated and beautifully transformed into the only "on the water" restaurant in the entire San Francisco Bay Area Peninsula.
