Hanoi’s newest five-star hotel, the InterContinental Westlake, breaks the mold for a city hotel. The main building is located at the water’s edge but the other buildings are built on stilts in the water connected by walkways creating the feel of a resort.
Still looking much as it did when it first opened in 1937, the Ocean Park Motel on 46th Avenue is said to be the first motel ever built in San Francisco. Today the motel remains architecturally intact, and it retains all of its Art Deco charm.

Hotel Las Tortugas, located in Playa Grande on the northern end of Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsuala is an excellent place for surfers and nature lovers alike. Playa Grande is a great spot for catching swells, and is one of the main nesting sites for the Leatherback Turtle.
