Kahului Airport (OGG).
Having survived the Hana Highway, we could feast our eyes on the rest of Maui.
As its name implies, Haleakala is the place on Maui to witness a stellar sunrise. Lahaina is celebrated for its sunset cruises and romantic seafood dinners overlooking the western seaboard and Kihei’s long stretch of white crescent beachfront provides an excellent view of the dipping globe.
What makes a great beach? Privacy, sun, sand, a nice swimming area and places to explore.
Maui is known for it's fantastic windsurfing beaches, and Ho'okipa Beach is one of the best. Most of the attention is on the windsurfers, but the lookout point above the beach provides splendid views of ocean waves breaking over the rocks and crabs scuttling through the tidal pools below.
World-class surfing and windsurfing at Ho'okipa beach park. Hang out and watch the first-rate acts while lounging on the white sandy beach.
Life = stress, right? Not necessarily.
Our friends, Lin & Jerry, who had moved to Hana, Maui had been trying to get us to visit for years.
