While traveling around the Mekong Delta floating markets, you saw whole families living on old wooden boats. The kids were also a key part of the market - this one happened to be shy - but curious!
The banks of the Mekong were lined with spectators watching the boat races. My favoriet were the monks that had come out to watch - brighly standing out in their orange.

I came across this young girl in a rice field several miles outside the Vietnamese town of Chau Doc. I had rented a motorbike for the day to explore the backroads in this portion of the Mekong Delta, stopping frequently to take photographs.
The resiliency of the Vietnamese people residing in the Mekong Delta is exemplified by their eccentric dietary selections, readily available at the local market.
The team leaves after a long day of racing. They seemed quite happy riding in the 'team bus'...or maybe they were just happy to be done with a long day on the river!
