  1. Birthplace of Atomic Energy Sign

    The first city in the world to be lit by atomic power was Arco Idaho. The city hall and business office has a grand sign with a neon atom and all to celebrate it.

    Located inside the White Sands Missile Range, the Trinity site is ground zero for the first atomic bomb test on July 16, 1945. Tours are available twice a year, on the first Saturday in April and October.

    The Titan Missile Museum is home to the sole remaining Titan II Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) complex of the original 54 that were on alert during the Cold War. The Titan II carried a nuclear payload 600 times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan!
