The name Sanjusangen-do means the "Hall of 33 Spaces (between pillars)," and refers the the architecture of this temple. In practical terms this translates into a narrow, but very long structure.

Place Blanche is one of my favourite places in Paris. Perhaps because I stayed most of my three-plus weeks there (in the building almost to the far right in the photo); perhaps because it always seemed to be so active.
My mother grew up in the Bronx, married my father at 18 and moved to Ohio.
As a kid, my family made a few trips to New York to visit my grandfather in Manhattan, relatives on Long Island and New Jersey, and my mother's childhood best friend on Staten Island.
With the exception of riding the Staten Island Ferry to Manhattan we'd done nothing typically touristy.
Until last year, I'd not really spent any time in New York as an adult, and I'd been wanting to walk the Brooklyn Bridge for a long time.

A couple of friends and I spent the day taking photographs around midtown Manhattan. Eventually, we wandered to Times Square and I was told I just had to see Times Square at night.
