   Village Transportation

   The tiny village of Mereseni is found off the beaten path between the capital city of Chisinau and the southern city of Cahul. Rich in vineyards and rolling hills, Mereseni is a picturesque look at old world Moldova.

   As I wandered around a Laos village outside of Luang Prabang in search of whiskey, I stumbled across this brother and sister. Better than whiskey any day!

Her mother was still recovering from the birth and following the typical tribal post-pregnancy rituals such as drinking a root based soup and burning a special wood on the fire.

    Emerald Village mine is home to the North Carolina Mining Museum and Bon Ami mine. Not far off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Little Switzerland, NC it is a wonderful stop for a day of history and trying your hand at mining.
