Allston Rock City
Black Rock City is the temporary city and home to the annual Burning Man event. Burning Man is an experiment in temporary community based on art, self expression, and radical self reliance.
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area is located 17 miles and a world apart from its more famous neighbor, the Las Vegas Strip. The land is managed by the BLM and has many uses, such as rock climbing, hiking and wildlife viewing.

Emerald Village mine is home to the North Carolina Mining Museum and Bon Ami mine. Not far off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Little Switzerland, NC it is a wonderful stop for a day of history and trying your hand at mining.
Red Rock Canyon is a newly acquired part of the Colorado Springs Trails and Open Spaces system. It is the geological continuation of the Garden of the Gods, located a mere mile on the other side of the highway.
