    My wife and I wandered into the market from Las Ramblas, our eyes drawn to the bright colors strewn everywhere in the form of candied fruits; our ears buzzed with the sounds of buyers and sellers haggling in Catalan.

    We opted for a small sample, a single pineapple ring. It was sweet, it was delicious, it was exotic and familiar at the same time.

    One of the many wonderful things about London is being able to drink your pint outside in the open air.

    The artist proudly exhibits his work at this trendy market open only in the summer months between June and October. If you are fed up with the tacky souvenirs that have mercylessly invaded every destination, then it's worth going for an origianl work of art which as I discovered does not have to cost the earth.

    One of the central squares of Marrakech is called 'Place Djemmaa el Fna'.

    During daytime the square is filled with merchants.

    A square city block in size, Ben Thanh Market has everything from shoes to shirts to swine. And lots of very persistent women merchants.

    Hoi An, Vietnam fish market. One of the local fish ladies smokes a cigar as she shops and bargains for fish.

    While traveling around the Mekong Delta floating markets, you saw whole families living on old wooden boats. The kids were also a key part of the market - this one happened to be shy - but curious!
