   Forest of Foxes

   It's hard to describe the effect produced by the foxes of Toyokawa, Japan. Tucked away in a forest behind a temple, hundreds, possibly thousands of individually-carved stone foxes sit huddled together collecting moss.

   One of New Zealand's famous tropical glaciers, Fox Glacier extends from the heights of the Southern Alps into the temperate rainforest below.

   Guardian

   One of the many cats who make the grounds of Fushimi Inari Taisha their home relaxes at one of the many small shrines dedicated to Inari, the kami of rice, agriculture, fertility, industry, and foxes. White foxes are believed to be Inari's messengers, and fox statues like the one in this picture rival the orange torii in quantity.
