    I had never seen a rainbow on water like this before. We stopped for lunch during a hard day of hiking along the Kalalau Trail and this slowly formed as we ate our peanut butter sandwiches.

  9. We're supposed to be on a trail?

    After spending most of a week in our tents watching rainstorms pass thru we decided to bail out of the Southern Picketts in the North Cascades NP. Our choices were slim - a long 2 day traverse involving several rock faces, or the quick route - a descent of 4,000' thru Devil's Club,downed timber and other underbrush.
