Every morning in Luang Prabang the abbots from the many monasteries lead the novice monks for their morning alms.
5.30am: Time to wake up, today we are gonna cross the river and enjoy the sunset over Luang Prabang from a temple on the other side of the river. For 2$ per head, our slow boat driver will make us cross the Mekong river and wait for us to bring us back to town.
Every morning around 6:30am all of the monks filter through the quiet streets receiving alms from the faithful residents of Luang Prabang. They are given mostly sticky rice which will be a major part of their two daily meals.
As I wandered around a Laos village outside of Luang Prabang in search of whiskey, I stumbled across this brother and sister. Better than whiskey any day!

While visiting a small village outside of Luang Prabang, Laos I had the opportunity to photograph a newborn only 5 days old. Her mother was still recovering from the birth and following the typical tribal post-pregnancy rituals such as drinking a root based soup and burning a special wood on the fire.
