    About one hour before dusk, the vast territories of the savanna in the Masaai Mara National Park apparently remained in calm. Thick clouds covered the sky but the land didn't get any rain at all, already for a long time.

    I was driving back to my hotel the long way via the drive along the coast in Prince Edward Island National Park. I was chatting on the phone with a friend and came over the hill and literally gasped when I saw this sight in my rearview mirror.

    This is a view of Sandy Hook as seen from the Highlands. On the horizon a small white spot can be seen which is the Sandy Hook Lighthouse.

    This was a 25 minute exposure taken from the rim of the Grand Canyon well after dark. The full moon was rising behind me and provides all the illumination for this photo.

    Guests at the park are seen sail surfing at the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area on the bay side. Atlantic Highlands and Highlands, New Jersey, can be seen on the horizon as weather starts to move into the area.
