On the way to Mt. Rainier I passed this lake with hundreds of clear-cut trees.
Skull Rock, found in Joshua Tree National Park near 29 Palms, California is an impressive stop for those that venture into the park. The other worldly formations are something to behold as you travel the place where "the streets have no names." (Thank you to U-2 from providing some perfect travel music!)
Of course, no visit to Joshua Tree National Park would be complete without taking the time to spend some time admiring the namesake of the park. The landscape and unique vegitation makes you truly feel as though you are visiting another world.
Go to a desert... Need to find an oasis.
Big Bend National Park is located in Southern Texas, USA along 245 miles of the Mexico/USA border. Big Bend is one of the largest, most remote, and least-visited national parks in the lower 48.

Want to get away from it all? Joshua Tree National Park has many isolated areas that give a sense of being in another world.

A hiking trail stretches northward along the narrows of Bowman Lake, and an hour's long walk might fail to bring you to the shore, since the woods are so dense. Bowman Lake is probably the quietest part of Montana's Glacier National Park.
