This guanaco, a type of llama, was kind enough to pose in front of the massive granite towers known as the Torres del Paine.

Hotel Explora has a full stable and offers riding for beginners and experts. While we were there, one lady did nothing but gallop across the hills the entire time.
When not hiking across the rugged landscape of Patagonia, the cozy rooms of the Hotel Explora in Torres del Paine National Park afforded spectacular views. Only the pounding wind against the window reminded us it was not a painting.
Crossing the Magallanes strait, 3 hours in a ship and then 3 more hours in a little compact car of the 80´s, I arrived to Russfin (180 kms from "Porvenir", the main city of Tierra del Fuego), a little village with no more of 20 inhabitants, mostly shepherds, no women and 3000 sheeps.
The "Piedras Blancas" (White stones) glacier is a good example of the beauty of "Los Glaciares" National Park, Patagonia, Argentina.
