Over looking the western edge of the Rocky Mountains upon the final decent into Salt Lake City airport. From my window seat in row one, I had one of the most comfortable, scenic flights.

We left Beirut (for CDG Paris) on a redeye MEA flight...this was the sunrise midair. The engine (foreground) has a red cast from the plane's red night-lights, still visible since the sun had not risen fully.

When arriving in Montreal by air you might get lucky with your approach to Trudeau Airport and fly right past the downtown core. From that perspective you can view Mont Royal, downtown itself, Old Montreal and the port.
Traveling in today's world can often be challenging. When we sit back and take a breath and look at the marvelous machines that take us high in the sky we sometimes lose site of the beauty of it all.
