  1. The beach at night

As all beaches are public in the Dominican Republic, the resorts that line the beach must guard against uninvited guests from entering their property on the water side. At our resort, they lit up the resort property line with bright lights that created a unique view of the trees.

  2. Beach Fishermen

Walking along a quiet beach on the north shore of the Dominican Republic I came across a father and his two boys fishing. Having taken the picture in a rushed and haphazard fashion, the result was wonderful and unexpected.

  3. Kite Surfing

Kite Beach, just outside of Cabarete in the Dominican Republic, is known as one of the best beaches in the world for the emerging sport of kite surfing. After several attempts, I was successful at catching this surfer as he jumped a wave and floated through the air.

  4. Resort Gardens

To my back is the beach, the pool, and the hundreds of resort guests talking, laughing, and enjoying every minute of their all-inclusive vacation. But in front of me is a tranquil scene of well manicured gardens bordered by a walkway reminiscent of ancient Roman aqueducts.

  5. Dulce de Leche

On the side of the road in the Cibao region of the Dominican Republic, one can purchase home-made dulce de leche sold in rolls, wrapped in banana leaves. This sweet treat is enhanced with vanilla, coconut, and orange, among other delightful flavors.

    Františkovy Lázně, Czech Republic

The bald man in the muscle-T that I always knew as Mr. Clean becomes Mr.
