   Goree Island slave fortress

   Goreee Island was used as a fortress and shipping point for slaves in the triangual slave trade between Europe, Africa, and the Americas from 1444 to 1815. It is located approximately 1.5km off the coast of Dakar, Senegal.

   Ile de Goree, an island about three kilometres from the coast of Dakar. This small volcanic rock is inhabited by 1200 people.
