    This charming little restaurant, located in the heart of Grass Valley, CA, claims to be "voted best lunch restaurant in Nevada County." We haven't eaten at many restaurants in Nevada County, but I would not challenge their claim. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly but not obtrusive.

    We were there for lunch (they also serve dinner) and my husband had the Ortega Chile Hamburger and I had Grilled Turkey with melted Jack cheese on top of marinated artichoke hearts.

  6. Sand Harbor

    Sand Harbor is quite possibly the most picturesque spot on Lake Tahoe. It is located on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe and is part of the Nevada State Parks system.

  7. Taylor Creek Visitor Center

    The Visitor Center, located in South Lake Tahoe on Hwy 89, is operated by the National Forest Service. It has an easy self-guided nature walk and a stream profile room where you actually view Taylor Creek from below the level of the creek.
