Our campsite on Kalalau Beach in Kauai. It was well worth the 11 mile hike along a very precarious trail.
After a treacherous 11 mile hike, there is no place better to rest your head for the night than Kalalau Beach. It's a slice of paradise that only the brave and willing will get to experience. The cliffs of the Napali Coast shoot up behind you, with ancient dwellings sitting on the tops of some. An 80 foot waterfall beckons you in for a wash (and believe you me, you'll need a wash after that hike). If you get the chance, go chat with the locals, the hippie community, at night just a mile and a half back on the trail. They're always willing to share stories and lemon grass tea with the adventureous.
